About Cedar and Waves
Cedar & Waves | the Western Red Cedar, the official tree of British Columbia, found along the coast of a place near to my heart. A tree otherwise known as “the tree of life” to some. Ocean waves … the happiest place in my world.
At the heart of Cedar & Waves, is me, Michelle Lloyd. I am an art therapist, registered psychotherapist, and supervisor. I am incredibly honoured to walk alongside and hold space for you on your healing journey.
I have a wealth of experience in offering talk, art, and play therapy in private practice as well as with community nonprofit organizations. My hope is to offer therapeutic sessions that are empowering, nurturing, healing, and safe.
Cedar and Waves began in 2022 as a dream to offer a safe space that is respectful, empathetic, and client-centered. A space where your creativity and story can emerge. I hoped to offer a confidential and safe place for clients to creatively explore, express, and process whatever it is that they feel they need too. Utilizing multiple modalities, offering both verbal and non-verbal therapeutic techniques using talk, art, and/or play to allow room for the diverse needs of clients and allowing individuals to take the lead of their own therapeutic journey. This journey began with an office and one therapist and few toys and art supplies. The practice has since expanded with more therapeutic offerings, supplies, and wonderful people joining the team.
I truly believe that at Cedar and Waves, we can utilize creativity and art-making to assist anyone to process and heal. My hope is that, we are able to support you along your healing journey, a journey to new possibilities.
At Cedar and Waves, we feel honoured and privileged to work with and learn from our clients and walk alongside their therapeutic journeys. We can’t wait to begin this journey with you.
